My Journey

With a lifelong dedication to supporting children with developmental disabilities, I discovered my passion for empowering and advocating for families through this enriching journey. The term “doula” began to resonate with me long before I pursued formal training during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic. For the past four years, I’ve had the honor of working as a birth doula in Portland, where each birth has deepened my reverence for this sacred work.

My own healing journey with trauma led me to explore the nervous system and the profound mind-body connection—particularly in the context of childbirth. This curiosity inspired me to complete Trauma-Informed Care training for birth workers and begin studies in Integrative Somatic Trauma Therapy through Embody Lab. These trainings inform how I hold space for birthing individuals and their partners, honoring the emotional and physiological experiences that arise during labor and beyond.

Alongside this, I was introduced to Reiki through a course for birth workers, and the practice had a profound effect on my own nervous system. I began offering Reiki to pregnant and postpartum clients, witnessing how it supported emotional regulation, relaxation, and a deeper sense of embodiment. Reiki gently activates the parasympathetic nervous system—often called the “rest and digest” state—helping the body downshift from stress and reconnect with its innate wisdom. I see Reiki as a powerful companion to the birth journey, one that nurtures intuition, supports the energetic body, and reflects the inherent strength each person carries.

To complement my emotional and energetic work, I also trained in the Body Ready Method, where I gained in-depth knowledge of biomechanics and fetal positioning. This equips me to guide clients in movements, positions, and mindset shifts that promote labor progression and postpartum recovery.

My mission is to provide holistic, trauma-informed, and evidence-based birth doula care rooted in intuitive wisdom. I strive to be a grounded, steady presence so no one feels alone during their journey.

Originally from Rhode Island, I’ve called Portland, Oregon home for the past seven years. When I'm not supporting families, you can find me in sipping tea, gardening or enjoying my partner’s amazing cooking. Together, we love exploring Oregon and watching movies.
